Pink stopped her concert and hugged a teenager who lost her mum
Pink (38) has proved again that she cares about her fans and doesn’t look down on her followers. Her concert in Brisbane, Australia, a few days ago showed everybody how empathetic the singer can be. The singer didn’t hesitate to stop her concert after she noticed a moving sign among the audience that read, "My name is Leah - I’m 14 years old. I lost my beautiful Mum last month. I would LOVE a hug…Please!"
An Australian teenager lost her mother this June just before she had a chance to attend Pink’s concert who was one of her favorite artists.
"My name is Leah. I'm 14 years old. My beautiful mother was gone last month. I need a strong hug. Please!" @leah.m.m ??— Pink_Fanclub (@piink_fanclub) 22 sierpnia 2018
The singer made the teen's night really special, her mum would be really happy!
"We didn't think there was a chance but we held them up in hope she would see it," she said.
"Strangers in the crowd grabbed the signs and we waved them frantically whenever she looked over our way. Until she squinted and said 'ok what IS that?'"
Then the sign was passed to Pink and as soon as she read it, the star came down from the stage to find Murphy.
"Pink said to her 'you're pretty - oh don't cry - it's going to be OK'. Leah told Pink how much her mum loved her."
"She hugged her so tight Leah cried. It was so beautiful and so meaningful. We think her mum sent her a hug from heaven."
So cool my friend! Repost @Jace_Robbo Didn’t think my weekend could get any better after the tweet from @Pink yesterday but then tonight at the concert she held my hand and sung I’m Not Dead with me... and I am in fact dead ?❤️?? @pinkiesfamilypic.twitter.com/qes2Xy1SQ0— Pinkies Family (@pinkiesfamily) 18 sierpnia 2018
"When Pink got back on the stage, she made a simple request to her fans in attendance. Everyone call your mom," Donkin stated.
"I don’t care if it’s two o’clock in the morning and you’re stupid drunk. Call your mom."
Donkin said that the concert really affected Murphy "She is so heartbroken. But since the concert, she hasn't stopped smiling and singing."
Leah's mother purchased tickets to Pink's concert in Sydney and she was planning to go with a friend but then she died in June.
Donkin said in the interview that Leah's mother, Debbie Murphy, was a big fan of the singer.
"When Debbie had planned to go the concert originally, she used to dance around with Leah in the loungeroom to Pink's music turned up loud. Debbie loved to dance more than anything."
Unfortunately, Debbie didn't make it to the show, so Leah went in her place.
Leah and I are going to see @pink Monday 20th. Leah and Harvey lost their beautiful mum Deb recently We are planning on dancing for Deb the whole night Pls share this post in the hope that @pink might see it and give Leah a hug That’s all we’re hoping for #dancingfordebpic.twitter.com/vFCsf17Xqy— trinyd (@trinyd) 16 sierpnia 2018
Pink postponed the Sydney show because of her illness. That's why Donkin purchased another ticket for the performance. Hopefully, the show will always remain in Leah's heart just like her beloved mother.
