Aretha Franklin is reportedly gravely ill

Aretha Franklin, a famous 76-year-old American singer and songwriter, is seriously ill. "She has been ill for a long time. She did not want people to know and she didn’t make it public," her friend revealed. Her state must be quite severe since her family was "asking for prayers and privacy." She is reportedly gravely ill and surrounded by her relatives and friends all the time. Some of her closest ones state that her condition is rather poor and that her weight is down to 85 lbs.

Some time ago there were rumors of Franklin's battle with cancer, however, the singer didn’t confirm the news. "I am not going to even deal with that."

In February of 2017, she announced her retirement from music "I will be recording, but this will be my last year in concert. This is it"

In spite of her poor condition that deteriorated in recent years, she came back to the stage last August for a performance at the Mann Center in Philadelphia

However, changes in her appearance were quite visible and that caused concerns about her health

In April 2011, she was hospitalized for an unspecified operation. She lost weight but didn’t address the rumors that she was struggling with cancer

"I feel fabulous, really. And I’m so thankful to all of the people who said a little prayer for me. People at the check out line in the market were telling me that they prayed for me. It’s amazing how beautiful people can be," she said in the interview

Throughout a few years, she canceled many concerts and now she has another battle to fight
