The Venice Film Festival is back again from Aug 29, 2018 – Sep 8, 2018, and it is here to serve us some GOOD looks that we can never forget! And of course, when we talk about the good look, Ryan Gosling (37) is the one we are talking about to be more specific! He appeared on the red carpet with grace wearing a burgundy suit with glasses that got us breathless! Ryan Gosling is here for his movie First Man in which he portrays, Neil Armstrong!

Movies at the Venice Film Festival

Suspiria
You might have come up to the trailer of Suspiria since the cast is pretty popular and talented. The remake of 1977, Dario Argento’s original, Suspiria has stars like Dakota Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz and Tilda Swinton in it. And it is set to hit the theaters on the 2nd of November.

In the first movie trailer, there was no dialogue and the title of the movie started appearing during the trailer as letters which is pretty impressive! Dakota Johnson who has recently finished filming the "Suspiria" confessed that she had to sign up for a therapy as the film destroyed her psyche to such an extent that she needs a specialist’s help. She probably doesn’t have good memories connected with this film…

The Favourite

This movie is from Yorgos Lanthimos and also with a great cast including Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz. The story is about two cousins competing to become court favourite in the early 18the century. The world premiere of this movie is on the 30the of August at the Venice Film Festival and it will be released in the U.S on 23rd of November!

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

The movie The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is an American western anthology that is all written, directed and produced by Coen brothers. The stars of the movie are Tim Blake Nelson, Brendan Gleeson, Liam Neeson, James Franco, Zoe Kazan, Tyne Daly, Stephen Root and Tom Waits. Coen in an interview said: "We’ve always loved anthology movies, especially those films made in Italy in the Sixties which set side-by-side the work of different directors on a common theme"

Vox Lux

This one is a pretty anticipating piece of work for the music lovers. Brady Corbet has directed a movie about the life of a mother who wants to manage her life, between her fancy, chaotic superstar life and her personal one. The manager of the superstar is no other than Jude Law making it another perfect movie from the two! And the songs are composed by SIA! Yes and Scott Walker.

The Other Side of the Wind

The trailer of this movie makes you want to jump on the plane and go to the festival in Venice! We are coming with you! The Other Side of the Wind is a mockumentary shot both in black and white and color style and it is a film in another film by Orson Welles. The stars of the movie are John Huston, Bob Random, Peter Bogdanovich, Susan Strasberg and Oja Kodar.

A Star Is Born

Many of you may not know this but the movie A Star Is Born starring Bradley Cooper (43) and Lady Gaga (32) that everyone is talking about right now is based on a movie with the same name made in 1937 starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. Bradley Cooper made his directorial debut with this production but that is not the only interesting fact about this film! The talk of this movie actually started in 2011 with Clint Eastwood (88) and Beyonce (36) as the star!

Roma

People who know Alfonso Cuarón Orozco, they know him for his works such as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Children of Men and Gravity for which he received, the Academy Award for Best Director. He has always been praised by the critics and he has six nominations under his belt. Roma is about a Mexican family and the drama they go through with little-known stars.

Paul Greengrass, the director of this movie is known for works like Bloody Sunday which won the Golden Bear at 52nd Berlin International Film Festival and other movies such as United 93 which received an Academy Award for Best Director nomination and Captain Phillips. His co-produced movie, Omagh also went on to win British Academy Television Award. This time, 22 July is about the terrorist attacks done by Anders Behring Breivik.

At Eternity’s Gate is the movie we all have been waiting for an in case the picture did not give it away, the movie is Vincent Van Gogh biopic. Facts about Venice Film Festival

The Venice Film Festival is known as the first international event of this kind. This festival is more known as one of the intellectuals and the lovers of non-mass cinema! Something in a different level far from the rest of the festivals of such! The award of the best film here is the Golden Lion and the judges are pretty meticulous when it comes to the selection of the winner of this award.

The people who became twice laureates are André Cayatte, Louis Malle, Chinese Zhang Yimou and Ang Lee. The well-known movies that could receive this award are Three Colors: Blue, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstern Are Dead, Romeo and Juliet and Brokeback Mountain. It is interesting to know that there is an unspoken tradition that is followed by all the nominees and winner of this show.
